Wolmyeongdong Church observes service outdoors during spring

Wolmyeondong Church Observes Service Outdoors

Wolmyeong Dong News — “Spring has reached its peak.”

That’s what we thought when we saw how green Wolmyeongdong had become this year. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and their leaves fluttered under the sunlight shining upon the natural temple.

It’s funny to recall how just a few days ago we were struggling against the last breathes of winter.

In contrast to the cold breeze of winter, the spring weather soothed our hearts with its warmth. In order to welcome the spring season, the Wolmyeongdong Church decided to observe service at the Natural Temple on April 10, 2016.

People said that they were rejuvenated at the sight of the cherry blossoms in full bloom and the change of seasons. They wanted to express their thanks to the Holy Trinity who created nature in all its beauty. So the members of the Wolmyeongdong Church and other nearby regions gathered together to observe service outdoors on the lawn sanctuary.

On that day, Pastor Jung Myung Seok delivered a sermon titled, “The relationship of love in our everyday lives.” The sermon was about living our lives while connecting our thoughts with the Trinity and the Lord’s thoughts as we express our love and communicate with the Trinity in the midst of our daily lives. He reminded us so that we would not forge.

After listening to this sermon, the congregation determined themselves to become people who would surely love the Trinity in the midst of their daily life.

At the end of the service, everyone gave glory to the Trinity by singing praise songs; thus, the service came to a close with fiery worship.

2016 Arbor Day in Wolmyeongdong

Wolmyeong Dong News — Providence Gospel held a tree-planting festival in Wolmyeongdong for Korea’s 71st Arbor Day on April 5, 2016.

Members from various regions all came to participate. In Wolmyeongdong, they fertilized the Aronia in Myeongmak-gol and arranged trees on Cho Mountain.

In an interview about the day’s event, Kang Ji-Sue from Seoul said, “I drove to Wolmyeongdong from the quiet of dawn filled with excitement. When I arrived, the morning breeze was chilly, but during the daytime, the feeling of spring was splendid.”

She continued, “I found it difficult to fertilize the trees because of the stench coming from the fertilizers. But I prayed for the trees to grow well and gave thanks to God for raising us with all His heart and dedication. I had a delightful day with the Lord in Wolmyeongdong. It was gratifying, and I felt the Lord’s love in my heart upon returning home.”

Today’s work finished when the sun set.

Ending the day with prayer

This whole project was a fight between us and time. We needed to persevere. When it rains, we cannot work, and when it’s cold, the weather slows us down.

Please pray a lot for the landscaping of Wolmyeongdong to be completed well and safely!
